Bartitsu is an eclectic martial art and self-defence method originally developed by British engineer, Edward William Barton-Wright
in England during the years 1898–1902. In 1903, it was immortalised (as "baritsu") by SirArthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes mystery stories.
[1] Although dormant throughout most of the 20th century, Bartitsu has been experiencing a revival since 2002.
Prof.TT Lowther includes the avid study, re-creation and modernisation of such as Bartitsu, as part of his lifetime regimen and general addition to the betterment of today's wayward society.
Of course our respects must go to the 'Inventor and facilitator of Bartitsu
Edward William Barton-Wright
(pictured left),
in essence the founding forefather of today's widely known MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
